Places to see in in Delhi, India

This a list of top places I want to see (although I'll be happy if I get through half of them in the time frame)

Jama Masjid JamaMasjid is one of biggest mosques in India-A magnificent architectural gift by emperor Shah Jahan. Completed in 1658, this mosque has three gateways, four angle towers and two minarets. You can enter the mosque but take precaution to take off your shoes and make sure that you are properly dressed before entering . One can also go to the top of minarets. From here you can have a birds eye view of Delhi.

Nizam-ud-Din Shrine It's one of Delhi's major attractions. It's the tomb of the famous Sufi saint Nizam-ud-Din Auliya. Inside the premises of the shrine is a tank which is surrounded by many other historically significant tombs. The shrine also has the tomb of Amir Khusru and the grave of princess Jahanara, the daughter of Emperor Shah Jahan. It is worth visiting the shrine at around sunset on Thursdays, as it is a popular time for worship, and Qawwali singers start performing after the evening prayers.

The Bahai Temple Completed in 1986,the Bahai temple is set amidst pools and gardens. Adherents of any faith are free to visit the temple and pray or meditate silently according to their own religion . The structure is in lotus shape so it often called the lotus temple. The view of the temple is spectacular before dusk when the temple is floodlit.

ISKCON Temple Built by the Hare Rama Hare Krishna cult followers this temple is dedicated to the Lord Krishna. Built on a hillock, this complex is elegantly built and is one of the largest temple complexes in India.

Laxmi Narain Temple One of Delhi's major temples and a major tourist attraction. Built by the industrialist G. D. Birla in 1938, this beautiful temple is located in the west of Connaught Place. The temple is dedicated to Laxmi, the goddess of prosperity and good fortune. The temple has well grafted gardens. Popularly known as the Birla Mandir.

Red Fort Built in 1648, this sprawling fort of red sand stones along the river Yamuna is surrounded by a wall of about 2.4 km in circumference. It was built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. after he transferred his capital from Agra to Delhi. The fort has two main entrances, the Delhi Gate and the Lahori Gate facing the famed Chandni Chowk market. The Fort has Diwan-e-Aam, and Diwan-e-Khas where the king would grant audience to the public and would grant audience to important people respectively Adjacent to this is the Rang Mahal, the water cooled Apartment for the royal ladies.

Here is a list of places I also want to visit in Delhi other than the ones mentioned above if I have time:

    Qutub Minar

    India Gate

    Old Fort

    Jantar Mantar

    Humanyun's Tomb

    Safdarjung Tomb

    Chhatarpur Temple

    Raj Ghat

    Gurudwara Rakab Ganj

    Gurudwara Bangia Sahib

Come back later to see my status update and check which places I ended up visiting, I might even have a picture diary.. hehe

    India here I come...

I'm so overly excited.. I'm going back to Delhi,India next week!!!

It's been over a year and a half since the last time I visited and this trip is just so exciting!

I'm only going for 5 days to drop my sister back at school after the winter break, but I don't care.. I wouldn't mind even if it was one day!

    Slumdog Millionare

    I love this movie!!!
This is the greatest movie of all time, at least in the last couple of months that I have seen.
You feel the characters every second of the movie. I lived in India for 8 years and I can relate to the things that were in the movie, living there are seeking such things going on around is just too petrifying.
Its a log 2 hour movie with love, crime, action and a happy ending ... for some characters ... it has 10 Oscar nominations and over 42 awards...
You don't have to know everything to become a billionaire, sometimes it is just meant to be!

Please leave your comments after you see this movie!!!
You can read a detailed review at: Slumdog Millionaire

This movie got an 8.7/10 review and is rated 34th place out of the top 250 movies of all time.

    Phone Made in China?

What do you think of Replicas?

I want to buy a phone and one of my friends has just offered me to get the same phone that I want, but not the original one but the one assembled in China but with original parts from Nokia??

The phone I was is over $1500, but the replica is at around $450 and supposedly the same quality except a bit smaller memory.

Anyone had experience with Chinese phones, cause I have heard biased opinions, some are so satisfied and say that they would have never known the difference if they paid full price for the phone and bought it in a store.

They even have the sticker on the back saying made in Finland, so from time to time you wouldn't even know if your local store sells the replica ones.

    What do you think?

Is smoking a Shisha a good thing or a bad thing???

I have this question that I keep asking myself, is smoking a Shisha a good thing or a bad thing?

I mean is it as bad as smoking cigarettes or is worse? Supposedly there isn't that much nicotine in it, but then on the other hand there is still a lot of smoke that you take in although it is filtered through water?
    What do you think???

I have opened the World of Ebay for myself... WoW

I have always been a fan of eBay and have been registered there for God knows how long. And now, only after a couple of years I feel that I'm ready to try to start a small business of my own!

I actually spent so much time lately doing research on what items sell and what doesn't on eBay and where it would be possible to find a good distributor that I'm surprised myself!

Well I just wanted to share and ask weather anyone has a business on eBay or has bought anything on eBay??
Please share your experience.. want to know more! :)

My first award ... I pass it on...

Wow what a great surprise... thank you so much!
I actually have someone notice and read my blog from time to time! :)
    Mission one accomplished!
This is my first award, and I hope not last (hint hint) ;)

The next thing that I will do is make a list thing on side to paste the award and the more to come! :)

Now coming back to the idea of this award, what did I get this for and from who...

My First ever award was given to me by Jenny, check her blog out at:
    Nennis World

With all the blogs around.. thank you for so much for stopping by from time to time!!!
This is the beautiful award she gave me:

    Here are the rules:
    1. Put the logo on your blog. (done)
    2. Add a link to the person who awarded you. (done)
    3. Award up to 10 other blogs. (on its way, only came up with 7)
    4. Add links to those blogs on yours. (done that, please see yourself of the left)
    5. Leave a message for your awardees on their blog (in the process...)

There are so many great blogs that I follow, here it goes...

    1. I love what Beth is doing on her blog, it is such a creative idea. The One Minute Writer is such a simple idea but it has behind the idea so many emotions and feelings that we sometime either tend to keep to ourselves or forget them! Thank you.

    2. I'm sorry darling, but i had to place you on the second spot, you should write more often! :) This is an amazing blog, with so much feeling and love in it. The name says it all: Happiness in a Lighthearted way Keep posting darling, you inspire me!

    3. I like this blog, because I think I can learn from it. It inspires me with reminding that I should keep writing. Also it is so communicative, great title also She writes, You write
Thank you for stopping by and commenting on my posts from time to time. i think Meili makes a great wife, daughter,mother,etc.. :)

    4. This is so fab, I never knew that a dogs life could be so interesting, I was actually shocked. But Henry is one hell of dog, I even introduced my cutie to him... more stories from Henry can be found at: Henry the Dog Diaries

    5. I'm not sure if this is even a blog, but it sure looks like on. This is the best thing ever, there are so many cool things that can be found here. You will find the most amazing things here :
    Blogger Buster

    6. I came across this blog by mistake, Megat has some funny and real entertaining things posted on his blog at Sincerity to All .

    7. This blog has been so inspiring, but I have not come to doing it. It is such a good thing to do and I have been putting it forward for such a long time, but I should get myself to doing so soon. The name of the blog is relevant, Things to do before you die

I tried to come up with 10 blogs, but I didn't realize that I don't have that many blogs that I follow to add to my list. I guess I will have to do some research to get more blogs to follow...

Post for Henry the Dog - My little Shitzu

I decided to write a post dedicated to Henry the Dog.. :)
Well it is not 100% dedicated to him, but is for him if I can say that!
I would like to introduce Kvadratysika, my baby.
My husband and i got her in Aug 2007..
The funniest thing is that we thought that she was initially a boy and that's why we names her Kvadratik, which into English means Square ( don't ask why we chose this name).
But then a couple of weeks later we learnt that its a girl, but we couldn't change the name so we had to add an ending to make it sound like a girls name! :)
She is a Shit Tzhu and originally she is from Thailand, but over the last year and a bit she has gotten to the cold weather and it is her second winter! :) She loves the snow!
I just had to show her to the world and my blog is the best place where to do it! :)

Change of blogs...please join me at...

I have decided to write more on my other blog rather than the random things that I have been writing in. So please I would love it if you would join me at http://my-bits-n-pieces.blogspot.com/ and let me share my thoughts and ideas with you!! :)

Have a great DAY and Happy Holidays!!!

    Love over the INTERNET???

If someone told you 20 years ago that you were going to fall in love to someone over the Internet, would you believe them? Come to think about it I think I would have been laughing and first of all asking what in the world does the word Internet mean..

And today, that the reality, honestly there is a greater chance that you would meet someone online rather than in real life. I met my husband online 4 something years ago, the best thing that has ever happened to me (excluding the moments when i just want to...agghhh).

I think its so much easier to introduce yourself online, be yourself. Obviously you might be talking to someone who lives across the street and has been dying to talk to you, or it could be someone very far away, you just have to take your chances!

When you introduce yourself to someone in a club, restaurant, cinema, anywhere you straight away give a first impression which is a good thing, but doing it online kind of gives you a second chance. In a way you get time to prepare yourself.

And I'm not saying that it, you have to stop going out and meeting people, I just think that if you haven't given it a try, don't judge it. What do you think, can You find real Love online???

    What to write about...

I didn't think this blogging this would be so hard, I so want to write everyday, but just can't bring myself to doing so, how do you all do it? Where do you get the inspiration to come up with different subject to write about?
Can I write about anything here? There are so many things I want to say, but not sure if this would be the place to write them...
    Please help...

    HAPPY 2009 EVERYONE!!!

Better late then never, Happy New Year everyone!!! Did you have a great time? How did you celebrate this year? Did you stay home with your family?
I had such an amazing time, the hubby did a great job of organizing a table in one of the clubs, really had an amazing time, turned out to be a bit expensive, but come to think about it... New years is only once a year, right so what the heck!!!
Actually I should add, this is how the last couple of hours of 2008 looked like... :)

8PM - drove to see my parents, presents, kisses, etc
10.30PM - drive back to town (30 min)
11.00PM - running to the apartment to open a bottle of Champagne ( since there is a time difference and the Russian president was giving a speech at 11pm, we get to have 2 new years, haha...)
11.30PM back in car with friends, driving to our apartment...
11.59.30PM running, literally running to third floor and trying to open another bottle of champagne and turn the TV on to watch the fireworks display...
    12.00AM - HAPPY NEW YEAR

    and there was much more...

I have to spend some quality time to think of what I want my 2009 to be like and what needs to change in my life... good night!!!
